2 Chainz | Psychology

American songwriter, rapper, basketball player, and media personality 2 Chainz initially gained prestige for being the other half of the Southern hip hop duo Playaz Circle with his longtime friend and fellow rapper, Earl “Dolla Boy” Conyers. The duo is best known for their debut single, Duffle Bag Boy, featuring Lil Wayne. Eventually, Chainz went on venturing a solo career in 2012 after signing a record deal with Def Jam Recordings, an imprint of Universal Music Group, subsequently releasing multiple albums that spawned commercially successful singles like No Lie, Birthday Song, I’m Different, and Feds Watching, among many, in collaboration with different famous rappers and music artists such as Pharell Williams, Drake, and Kanye West, to mention a few.

Chainz attended North Clayton High School, where he played basketball and graduated second in his class. Later on, at college, he went to Alabama State University on a basketball scholarship and played for their team from 1995 to 1997. Ultimately, Chainz transferred to Virginia State University, where he obtained a degree in psychology.
