Michael Shulman | Art History

Michael Shulman began his career in theatre and appeared in several musicals and plays, including Broadway’s Les Miserables, which ran for two years, Stephen Sondheim’s Assassins, and two plays by John Guare. Shulman also was a cast in the television animated series Recess, in which he portrayed the character of the Hustler Kid. During that time, he started his recording career and eventually released five albums. Other television shows and big-screen films Shulman starred in were Little Man Tate, Wide Awake, and Party of Five. He was creditedwith a nomination for CableAce Award for his performance in HBO special’s Some Had to Be Benny in 1996, for which he became the youngest in the award’s history to be nominated.

As an avid supporter of arts, Shulman serves at The Public Theater as a board member of the Young Partners and a volunteer in a special access program for people with dementia, Meet Me at MoMA. He graduated from Yale University with a degree in art history.
