Carrie Underwood rose to prominence after winning the singing competition in television, American Idol, in its fourth season in 2005. Later on, she became the only country artist to debut at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 with her debut single, Inside Your Heaven. The crossover single, Jesus, Take The Wheel furthered her debut album, Some Hearts, that same year. Underwood became the best-selling solo female artist in country music history, with her album becoming the fastest-selling debut album in Nielsen SoundScan’s history. Throughout her career, she was credited with three Grammy Awards, including Best New Artist.

Member of Honor Society played softball and basketball, and a cheerleader, Underwood attended Checotah High School and graduated as a salutatorian. Later on, she went to Northeastern State University in Oklahoma, graduating as magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in mass communication.
