James Franco | English (Major in Creative Writing)
If you have been an avid viewer of NBC, then James Franco would perhaps be a familiar face in 1999 where he starred in Freaks and Geeks—this role would be propelling him further into the world of acting. A few months after, he starred in his first film, Never Been Kissed and Whatever It Takes, in the following year. He was becoming better in his craft that in 2001, he won a Golden Globe for best actor for his role in TNT’s James Dean. Subsequently, he received an Academy Award Nomination for best actor for his performance in 127 Hours and a Golden Globe for The Disaster Artist.
Aside from loads of recognition he got from acting, Franco is also known for his eagerness to educate himself. He had enrolled in various colleges and held a few degrees to his name. In 2006, Franco obtained a degree in English major in creative writing from UCLA. Two years later, he sent himself to school again, taking up a Master of Fine Art in creative writing.
