Hugh Grant | English Literature
Like many of us, Hugh Grant has an impressive set of skills. He played a couple of sports throughout his high school years, notably football, rugby, and cricket. Along the way, he also showcased his academic prowess when he represented his school in the Top of the Form quiz show. By the time he enrolled at Oxford’s New College, Grant found his interest in acting.
After graduating with a degree in English literature, his career found its momentum around the late 1980s, thanks to his performance in 1987’s Maurice, followed by more acclaim for his work in Sense and Sensibility and Restoration, both released in 1995. Initially praised for his charming and romantic persona, the actor has since ventured on to more typecast-breaking roles. This includes his stint in the family comedy Paddington 2, the spy film titled The Man from UNCLE, and the psychological thriller series The Undoing.
