Through the years, the entertainment industry has spent impressive portions of its investment money adapting many famous novels, video games, and comic books into movies or TV shows. Of course, one of the most successful, and arguably the most beloved, would be the Lord of the Rings films.

The trilogy revolves around a group of heroes, one of which is Aragorn, amazingly portrayed by Viggo Mortensen. After finishing his studies at St. Lawrence University as a Spanish studies and politics major, he first worked as a truck driver. He also sold flowers along the way before finally shifting his sights to an acting career. While he is now most recognized as the Strider in Peter Jackson’s adaptation of Tolkien’s books, other notable films the actor has worked on through the years include Captain Fantastic, A History of Violence, A Dangerous Method, and Green Book.
