Andy Serkis | Visual Arts And Theater
Along with the advancements in technology, filmmaking has had more than its fair share of milestones and achievements through the years. One such example, of course, would be the usage of motion capture technology. For this, one person we can give credit to is none other than Andy Serkis.
While studying visual arts and theater at Lancaster University, he tried his hand in a couple of stage productions. Although he initially only did behind-the-scenes work, Serkis eventually gave acting a shot. He began his journey as a professional actor after graduating in 1985. Nowadays, the actor is most known for his performance capture work on characters such as Gollum in The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit movies, Caesar in the Planet of the Apes films, and King Kong in its eponymous film. With that said, Serkis is also a filmmaker set to direct the upcoming 2021 flick, Venom: Let There Be Carnage.
