During her professional career, Fischer had credits in minor roles in movies and several television shows. Subsequently, her breakthrough role was in The Office, which aired for over nine seasons. Aside from acting, the actress ventured into directing and in writing a book.

When she is not within The Office, Fischer spends most of her time on the brand-new estate she bought with her husband, Lee Kirk. Their manor boasts a vast expanse with a swimming pool, a tennis court, and a top-of-the-line dining room. In 2019, she adopted an adorable tabby kitten, Sonny.
